Some people are just naturally good at some things. The are gifted from birth with special skills. They find that special skill early in life because it falls in front of them. I have good news for all of you also...you are also born with the seeds of greatness inside of you, you just have to find what it is. I can promise you you won't find them sitting on the couch in front of the TV. You will find them by putting yourself out there, taking chances to fail. I can honestly say I wasn't born good at sports, school work, computer programming or guitar hero (I hate that game). God decided to bless me with the ability to get my face kicked in, knocked down, beat up, and still WANT to get back up and keep going. I literally HATE to lose. Winning is great but I HATE losing. I HATE losing!!!
What it boils down to is two things. If you put in the COMMITMENT that you are going to succeed at being a real estate investor no matter what, and I mean no matter what happens, and you march forward everyday knowing that success is just "one more day away" you will succeed. Then once you make that your commitment you put in the DISCIPLINE to carve out time in your schedule EVERY DAY to do a little bit whether it be reading, looking at properties, putting in offers, talking to other investors, listening to audio's, talking to sellers, reading some more then after about 6 months something magical happens, you just programmed your brain to be a real estate investor and deals start to fall into your lap because you can "SEE" them. You understand creative financing and how too see a good way to finance a no money down deal. It just happens. Sadly, most will give up before the magical process happens. It breaks my heart to see people that tell me "CBR, I am going to be real estate investor and I am going to get financially free" I always ask them "no matter what?" and they say "yep, and I am going to blow away the number of deals you have done!" I tell them that is possible. I make them promise me that they will never give up and we write it down on a piece of paper. Is success hard to achieve? Yeah, it's real hard. Some people tell me "CBR, I don't want to buy as many properties as you, but what does the average investor achieve" to that I say "NOTHING! The average investor doesn't make it" You guys are not average. Make a commitment and be disciplined every day to make it happen. Don't give up, no matter what. You go out and be the guy that everybody looks upto. Remember it isn't what happens to you that matters. It is how you think about what happens to you that matters.

If that doesn't get people motivated I'll be floored! CBR, you should be a motivational coach, that was awesome! I give you a standing ovation on that one!! I don't like guitar hero as much as rock band where EVERYONE can play an instrument and sing.... HA! But I'm a musician, so that may contribute to me liking it too!

I am really inspired by it and it makes me even more determined to show hubby and the RE agent who told me yesterday that there is no quick money in REI but I should become one of his RE agents instead. He said that this area is not worth trying to invest in. I was so slammed by his views since he is the top RE agent in our county. He laughed at me even thinking about investing when I have no money or credit.
I want to prove him wrong SOOOOOO MUCH!
I am so close to the point of being able to make this work and I am not giving up even though I am still reeling from his remarks.
Thanks for the inspirational post. Do you think that there are areas in the country where REI is a waste of time? Anyone?

Real Estate is NEVER a waste of time, because people ALWAYS need a home whether it's buying or renting in ANY area and someone is making money from them, so why not you? Remember that honey, and don't let those ignorant remarks ring true in your head. That guy is probably top agent in the county because he's sheisty, have you considered that? He obviously has NO clue what he's talking about. Real Estate has made me more money than ANY job or gig or both combined together, than I've ever had and with very little effort and time!

I know your right. It just rocked me so much. This guy is a close friend of the states RE commissioner so I guess he seemed to carry some weight in his opinions. I am so sorry I even spoke with him but I will show him very, very soon. I just have to baby! There is no turning back now.

Well he defintely could use a lesson on diplomacy!! Sometimes people get into their 'top' positions by who they know or even greasing their hand, if you know what I mean. I for one HATE those types of politics, I'd rather get into a position because of my integrity, qualifications and performance. Not by who I know or who's booty I kissed... HA! I've always held myself to those standards and always will. I'll leave the brown nosing to those who need to get ahead that way. Just remember, he puts his pants on one leg at a time, he's not above you because of who he is. Your bloodline is much greater, as you are a child of the most high God!

what your doing, posting on the site, taking notes, studying, contributing, and keep practicing too, make sure you read over @ least some of your notes every night @ least devote 30 minutes or more to studying, TRUST ME, it will pay off, SULLY.

I don't have any of these things because I'd be so busy playing them I'd never leave the house or get anything done, HA! My daughter has them for her Wii, her and her new hubby are fanatics at it. Having played professionally in bands for over 27 years is much better than pretending to do it, but it's so fun to watch everyone try to sing or play a foreign instrument, I'm just upset there is no keyboard part... LOL!

WOW if that was motivational PHD from UHK and to a MBA. I definitely feel at home.
I LOVE this site! havent been on in a while since I was working on my first flip! But done deal! What a feeling! And I too, have my degree from the UHK! Classroom earth is a great teacher and since discovering Dean and this site I cant wait to get up each day and live it to the MAX!!!! I'm so excited for my future its a dream come true! I added a goal to my list....When I reach the millionaire club I'm gonna fly us all somewhere to meet and celebrate together!
