I can't believe it happened again, and in only 6 weeks. Back on 07-07-209, I wrote about the REO that disappeared in 12 hours! See link below:
Believe it or not it happened again! I was watching a home that was vacant. It had boarded up windows in a good neighborhood, however several hoems had flood damage in teh area and some people are taking longer than others to fix or sell the homes.
This home was on a corner and I would force myself to drive by each day to keep an eye on it. The trees were cut back last week and the home could be seen from the street. I did see water being pumped from the basement that was a concern but also would help with a low (reasonable) offer.
Then it happened a "FOR SALE" hit the front yard. It is on my Saturday "to do list" to view the home. My wife went to Target this morning and stated remember that house you wanted to see on Saturday? I said yes, She said it is gone! I said don't kid me they just put it up for sale. I had to go check it out for myself and I took my camera.
I could not believe it, the house was gone, however the backhoe was still on the empty lot! Gottcha in the act! I could see the ReMax For Sale sign still sitting in the grass and the empty lot. If I came by an hour later there would have been not a trace! I did not have the heart to call the realtor who had the listing but if he did not know I could not imagine his face if he met a potential buyer there later in the day!
Thus, as a reminder always do that final walk through and check with the local city, town or county before you purchase amd close on an abandon house! Good luck on all your deals! Believe and Achieve! - Joe
