Hello DG Members,
I desire to expand my area of investing cities and towns and have been researching a few other towns and cities within an hour drive from my home. I decided to drive through the community in the evening last week and thought it would be a good idea to drive it today during the afternoon. This allows me to get a pulse of the area, conditions of properties and maybe even see some other rental proeprties in the new area. I drove the area and saw other rental properties and I wrote down the rental numbers from the "For Rent" signs. Thus, I will probably call later this week to find out additional information on these properties to get my own analysis of types of properties and area rental rates.
The take away I learned is you really get to know more about a community when you drive around and meet some people during both the day and evening hours. You can ask a lot of questions and most people in local stores or walking will be nice to share information if you are a friendly face asking about their community. Good luck with all your deals.
